Searching for an affordable yet pretty and fun theme for this Christmas? Well, I was in the same boat until I discovered these charming mini paper Christmas trees on Amazon (https://amzn.to/40HlDLI). Initially, I worried they might appear cheap and tacky, but I was happily surprised by the final result. When paired with the right complimentary decorations, they turned out to be a fantastic success.
Here's some info about The Amazon Mini Christmas Favour Box Houses:
The Amazon mini Christmas favour boxes are great for holding candies, cookies, or any small goodies. It can also be great to put small toys or gifts to give out to guests. I decided, however, I would use them to decorate my Christmas tree and bonus, you get 24 in a pack at a very reasonable price! The design is super cute and simple with trees, snow, and a cozy little red door that brings a warm, festive touch. It's made of natural coloured craft paper which is a great because it helps balance out colours and add texture. While it's easy to assemble, it does take a bit of time to do them all but the finish look is adorable and the provided twine gives them a rustic look that is great against my other existing decorations.
First Stop - The Christmas Tree
My initial priority was decorating my Christmas tree so if I didn't get to anything else, at least I knew that was done and dusted!
My Amazon package arrived and I immediately began assembling all 24 mini house favour boxes.
I placed them one by one on my tree, positioning them close together for a warm and inviting feel. I arranged each mini house to stand upright in a neat and orderly manner, rather than simply placing them randomly. The best thing about these mini houses were that I just had to nestle them between the pines and place them gently on the branches and they stayed. A few I hung by the twine bow but all in all it was fast and easy. I then filled in the gaps with my current decorations. I had some snowflakes, icicles, ball ornaments and a few other Christmassy items. I chose a more understated neutral color palette that included matte (less shiny) golds, silvers, and whites. This selection ensured a bright and fresh look while steering clear of a gaudy appearance. Traditional red and green would scream festive and would probably look really nice too, but I opted for the cozy, play-it-safe route this year! The end result was uniform and quite pretty in my opinion.
I also really loved that the mini houses complimented perfectly my tree basket base.
Second Stop - Everything Else!
With that done, I felt inspired to go to town with my mini houses! I placed a few on my mantle, pairing them with some greenery and pine cones I already had and a placed one in a gold tray I had on my small coffee table.
Then, I thought, why not incorporate some into my wreath? I used a bit of glue to secure them to the wreath, added some lights, and that was it! (I had previously decorated the wreath years ago.) Quick and easy decoration – just the way I like it!
I was ready to wrap up the Christmas decorations when my youngest son asked if I planned to add some festive 'stuff' to the staircase (cue the eye roll). Curious, I asked why. His answer was simple: it makes him feel more in the Christmas spirit. I completely understood. Although I was slightly annoyed since I had decided not to let the decorations extend too far into other areas of the house this year, but how could I resist? I placed another order for more mini Christmas favour house boxes, dug out more garland, strung up some lights, and once the boxes came in (the next day), I strategically positioned them throughout the garland making sure not to over do it, because let’s face it, too many tiny houses could turn festive into a cheap tacky mess. I also skipped the extra bows and ornaments to keep the holiday vibes classy and clutter-free.
To wrap things up, I can't rave enough about these adorable mini Christmas houses from Amazon! They saved my wallet from a meltdown, sprinkled some unique charm into my holiday décor, and transformed my home into a festive wonderland—all without breaking the bank!
